WELCOME TO ACECOMS

The Asian Center for Engineering Computations and Software (ACECOMS) was established in 1995 as one of the first centers of excellence at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). ACECOMS aims to provide an impetus to the research in engineering computations, the development of quality computer software tools for engineering applications, and training on their effective use. ACECOMS is one of AIT’s initial self-sustaining centers and the region’s first of its kind

ACECOMS and AIT Solutions (formerly AIT Consulting) collaborate on projects to further develop aligned activities, extend services in software development specific to the engineering profession, and deliver expert training programs.

ASSOCIATIONS, NETWORKING, and MEMBERSHIPS

ACECOMS coordinates its efforts with several esteemed institutions and organizations in the region. These institutions, known as Associates and Associate Centers, act as key partners that support in jointly organizing various activities including localization of software, trainings, research, technology transfer and sharing, and information dissemination in their respective regions.

As part of its networking role, ACECOMS also acts as a link and hub for organizations in developed countries and those in developing regions. At present, there are associates in the USA, UK, and Australia on one end and many active Associate Centers in several countries in the region including Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, with more in the development stage.

In addition to organization-level linkages, ACECOMS has also a network of more than one thousand individual members from over forty countries that benefit from, and participate in, the activities of the Center.
